About Ruen

Ruen is a young handbag brand from Austria, which has made it its goal to revive old traditions
and give them a new shine. She combines modern transfer painting with traditional crochet technique – and creates
so under the slogan “Reviving Tradition” limited handbag collections that are timelessly beautiful.

Produced are the Ruen bags in careful handwork. And it works like this: the first step is to punch out two fine wooden plates and paint them with a mandala pattern. The mandalas used in this process were created exclusively for the Ruen handbags using a compass technique and cannot be found anywhere else in this form. In a second step, the wooden panels are perforated at the edges and framed by a crochet pattern. Then, in a third step, both plates are joined together using the crochet technique. Finally, the inside is lined with soft lining – and ready is a unique bag!
